» King's Highway Archive 2001-2005 «

King's Highway was born in July 2001, and despite undergoing various changes, it has survived the slings and arrows of outrageous fortune and existed in some form or another until May 22nd 2006, when it was taken offline due to unfortunate circumstances.

A lot of people have blessed us with marvellous roleplay stories and historical speculation and fact over the years, and it seemed a shame to lose all that, not to mention ungracious to those whose gave so generously of their time, effort and interest here. So I made the decision to put up an archive of the site while its future is being pondered. What you find here is a 'snapshot' of the site as it was in December 2005, closed to further posting and registration.

I would like to thank everyone who contributed to the site and especially those who stuck with it through its fluctuating fortunes over the years. I am very grateful for your excellent company, sharing of knowledge and fantastic storytelling talents More news will be forthcoming about KH's future, but in the meantime if anyone would like to contact me, you can email me at jamie@kings-highway.co.uk.

» Welcome to the King's Highway, a place for historical roleplay and discussion!! (please read!) «

Welcome to the King's Highway!

This is a privately owned community site, which I established with the intention of providing people a place to indulge in discussion and roleplay of various periods of history.

Although I aim to keep rules to the minimum, there are a few which although many of you familiar with other RP boards will know, I repeat here for the sake of those who never knew or have forgotten
  • In a roleplay, please read the all posts that precede yours in the story in which you are involved, and try to maintain continuity.
  • While creative anachronisms are unavoidable and permissible in the roleplays, straight fantasy is not unless specified in the story description.  Some of the stories accept a great deal of creative license while others may require stricter historical accuracy. If you're unsure, check with the Editors of each thread.
  • It is considered polite to ask permission before you involve another character in your roleplay posts. Sometimes they may have a plot line of their own they are trying to develop, or may simply be concerned lest they get written not in keeping with their character.
  • You may not kill or harm any other character without their express permission. That's considered very rude
  • While healthy discussion is encouraged, flaming other members who happen to disagree with you is not. Please be civil and respectful of other people and their opinions. Flamers and spammers will be peremptorily shot.
  • While all suggestions for new discussion threads or roleplay storylines are welcomed, they must be approved before they are created. Talk to the Administrator (that is myself, Jamie Duvall ) or any of the Editors for more information. Only the Administrator or forum editor(s) can start new threads in the forums.
  • Please take a moment to familiarise yourself with the King's Highway Code of Conduct and Disclaimer. Breaches of the Code of Conduct may lead to banning from the site.
  • The most important rule of course is: ENJOY YOURSELF!!

Note: Due to the sometimes "adult" nature of the posts on this board, which may include but not be limited to: sex (but not pornography), homosexuality, violence, and the recreational use of drugs and alcohol, if you are under 18 or easily shocked please do yourself a favour and leave now!!
(Bet you never realised history could be so interesting, did you?!   )

At your service - Jamie Duvall
